These programs launched in August 2014 and we are accepting applications. In addition, five $1000 scholarships will be awarded through the Hardy Scholarship Fund for BA students. The University of Tulsa CESE has rolled out an online, take-at-your-own pace class that would serve any non-technical employee, in any role, for any oil and gas company well.

The name of the class is "From Rocks to Drill Bits: The Essentials of the Oilfield" and it provides an overall perspective of the petroleum industry.

It is designed for any non-technical employee working in or interested in the oil and gas industry. Administrative Support, Computer Programmers, Draftsmen, Accountants, Marketing/Sales Staff, Managers, Human Resource Personnel are all great examples of who would benefit from this online course which helps them understand their role and how it relates to the complex industry in which they work. It is especially helpful to new hires who may be coming from outside the industry.

The deliver method is 100% online using the University of Tulsa's Blackboard Learning System. In total, the course has about 14 hours of engaging, recorded teaching; along with videos from the field that reinforce the material. Once you successfully completed the course (all chapters & quizzes), you will receive a Certificate of Course Completion stating 14 PDHs and 1.4 CEUs.
